3. Flaming Pizza at Pizza By The Bay

Pizza By The Bay was one of the first restaurants in Mumbai to be dedicated entirely to pizzas. A recent addition to their menu is the Flaming Pizza where they pour a flaming shot of vodka or rum over the pizza to turn it into a flambee of sorts. You can eat it once the flame dies out.

4.Amul Pav Bhaji at Sardar Pav Bhaji

Notoriously buttery, if you’re a fan of pav bhaji, you have got to try it at Sardar. This famous eatery in Tardeo dishes out countless plates through the day, and while they have Jain and cheese options, it’s the Amul Pav Bhaji that’s famous – and for good reason!

5. Misal Pav at Aaswad

The misal at Aaswad was always a favourite, but when it was named the tastiest vegetarian dish in the world at the 2015 Foodie Hub Global Awards in London it became positively famous. Don’t you want to see what all the fuss is about?

6. Bharla Bombil at Jai Hind Lunch Home

7. Dark Chocolate Macarons at Le 15 Patisserie

Chef owner Pooja Dhingra of Le 15 Patisserie is known for introducing macarons to Mumbai. You can find some unusual flavours here like ‘Paan’ and Lemon Chilli macarons, but there’s nothing to beat the Dark Chocolate macarons at Le 15 Patisserie

8. Melted Belgian Chocolate Crepe at Suzette

9. Mutton Berry Pulao at Britannia & Co.

As iconic as the restaurant it’s served in, Britannia’s berry pulao borrows inspiration from Iran but was invented in Mumbai. It comes with lovely, slightly spicy chunks of mutton (there are chicken and veg options too) buried under fragrant saffron rice and topped with golden fried onion and sour, jewel-toned Iranian berries called Zereshk berries or barberries.

10. Pani Puri at Elco

Famous for its chaat, this Bandra eatery is buzzing at all hours. There’s nearly always waiting and if you’re impatient, you can choose to wolf down their specialty – Pani Puri – at one of the chairs outside the restaurant. Indoors, you’re handed a plate with the spicy and sweet pani, sprouts to use as stuffing and puris served separately, so you can fill your puri with just the right blend you like.
